Tenere 700 Seat Now Comes In Two Pieces

Hey everyone, I was scrolling through some pictures of the Tenere 700 in the Facebook Group that was shared during the recent EICMA and chanced upon this interesting difference.

In the first picture of the blue detailed Tenere, the seat is just a single seat concept stretched from the fuel tank to the tail.

In the second picture of the red detailed Tenere, there is now a break in the seat.  Presumably to house small tools and whatnot.

Do you think is there a chance that Yamaha could be working on two different models or is it more the case that the new Tenere 700 will adopt a split seat instead of a single seat ?

ps: I take no credit for these pictures. They were graciously contributed by the following members of the Yamaha T7 Tenere 700 World Raid - Global Group in Facebook.

Haha, not much height in both pics for a comfort seat.

If it's anything to go by, I highly suspect that Yamaha is going with the chopped seat. The version shown ridden by Adrian now has a chopped seat instead of the single seater that he rode at last year's EICMA.

The two-piece seat actually looks lower. Look at the shape from the tank and downwards.

You're right on that. At a glance, the Yamaha Blue appears to have a thicker seat in terms of height near the tank as compared to the red one. The red one looks like it's gone for a shave too many ?

That is great news for a short guy like myself. I´ll have the two-piece seat, please. ?
