The European-spec motorcycle is built in France, while the North American model will be manufactured in Japan!

So I stumbled on this T7 review from "Ultimate Motorcycling" just now. I have no sense of the integrity of this website, perhaps others here do? It sure does make for interesting reading. One thing that intrigues me the most is the claim that I quote, as fact three in their 31 fast facts review, :-

 

"3. Yamaha utilized its design team in Italy to craft the Ténéré 700, incorporating feedback from rally raid racers. The European-spec motorcycle is built in France, while the North American model will be manufactured in Japan. This Euro-centric design approach and split manufacturing may explain the year-long lag between the European version’s debut and the North American edition."

I did try to translate something to a similar effect on the Italian video review of the bike posted here a few days ago, but this seems to add to the Dual production site story.

 

I wonder then what we in Australia will get? The Japanese version i'm guessing?

 

OK, maybe this is old news to some here but it's new to me, and others too I bet.

The EU bikes are built by MBK Industries in France.  Turns out it is the old Motobecane operation that Yamaha now owns!
