Picked it up 16 August and it's the best balanced bike I ever rode. As that handy as my old XT500 with 150 kg... . The original Yamaha Side Case Stay with both Cases makes the T7 in my mind too broad for easy travelling. I don't like it when the Side Cases are broader than the handlebars.

Because of that I mounted the original luggage rack only which will give me enough space for a Rack-Pack or more.

What are you thinking about the original Side Case Stay? Has anyone made some experiences already?

@ XTracer: your bike is the first one I see with the original porter; do you have any info, what the porter weighs?

 

I think the luggage rack shape offers a great way to get rack packs (for example) with rok straps on both sides tight and secure to the machine without the need for an extra carrier. You only need a protective film for the rear panels.

@ norei: weight…   good question. It's a robust construction and is also perfect for side Rack-Packs as you wrote.

Would estimate it's between 5 to 7 lbs. But honestly I don't know in detail how much it weighs. 

The ROK Straps I fixed meanwhile 😊.

The original rack weights 6,7 Kg with all the bolts and supports. Today I received mine's and the first thing I did was look the weight.
