Watching for dates

"How rare that we can point ourselves inevitably west and go, go, go. Run out the highway and the hills. Slide our fingertips over the creases and the valleys of the impossibility that is America. You can’t grasp its vastness from a plane. It’s diversity from a map. You have to put your feet on the ground. Your hands in the dirt."   -   Zach Bowman

Ditto.  Hopefully there's a gathering in the spring, maybe borders will open and I'll hopefully have my T7 in Jan.

Depending on the dates and when Seat Concepts releases their 1 pc comfort tall, yeah, I'm game.

Planning on doing the Idaho BDR this summer. Never done it before. Not sure the best time to go so researching that now. Would be fun to potentially time it with the rally.

I put a bike on a plane once, though it was smaller than a T7. In the early 90’s i managed a Yamaha shop and a women came in and said she won a bunch of money at a casino and wanted to take her grandson a present. I called the airline and they said no problem so we boxed up a PW80 and took it to the airport and she took it home to Kansas.

Best two months for me would be early June or Mid September.

If East Oregon, it will be a bike friendly town "Baker City". They have a few good sized motorcycle events ea year. Some really really good Paved and dirt choices and we could break out into groups for  Chill canyon carver routes, Dirt road routes and a group for trails. The ATV and single track in this area are very good. The camping is good. the fishing is good. The Scenery is beautiful too.

Or go another couple hours and come to Boise, we could meet up in Idaho City and camp/ride some different but equally awesome canyons, mountains with great hotels in Boise for those who don't want to camp. If hotel and bar nights is your thing, Boise would be better but also more cops.  Campground is great either choice. There is one large hotel in Baker City Oregon called the Hotel Baker that i old and really nice.

Thee are two people I need to contact. One is @PNWTEN and see if he can make it. Not a T7 rally without him.

I will ensure a photographer is there, what they charge will be posted before hand and I know some damn fine places to take pics to be framed after ya get home.

I have vacation built up but need to decide within next two months when I'm taking it.

Rob, I plan to be in Northern Idaho(Lewiston/Clarkston/Elk City/St Maries, St Joe NF) and  Hells Canyon Oregon most of June this year so that would be a great time and place to have one!

I’ve done the “Spiral Highway” in Lewiston and the “White Bird” grade on the 1200, looking forward to doing it on the T-7. I also want to go from Imnaha to Lewiston the back way....

I should be just north of SLC through this summer.  Any southern ID locations I'm in.  Lewiston would be more of a trek but I'd still be interested; I would just have to see how that would fit in my work schedule.  Following this thread for sure.

Starting to look like June, Boise area.

If it was later June, what's your thoughts on the IDBDR during that time? Would the high passes likely be snow free? Planning the IDBDR this summer and if the rally was the same time frame I'd love to coordinate to do both.

My guess is the IDBDR would be a bit early in June?

IDBR would mean support trucks and logistics that I’m trying to avoid this first meetup. This first one is gonna be camp same spot ea night and riding some awesome routes.
Idaho is full of awesome places to ride and some years you can’t get to the trinity lookout part of the IDBR in June due to snow up top.

Now that I think about it, if we did Baker City area that would be closer to you on that route above. Awesome riding between Baker City and Enterprise.

I was also looking into the IDBDR for this summer, but was looking at later in the summer.  I'll keep watching in hopes I can make it work.

Perhaps I wasn't clear, I wasn't saying for a thousand people to do the BDR with me. I was just saying I'm doing it this summer and if the 700 Rally was in Idaho and around a time that I'm hoping to go, I'd love to make a detour to share some beers with ya'll.

But it sounds like if I'm reading this right that the rally is in June and June might be a bit early to do the BDR so doubt Ill be able to make it.

Sounds like a super fun event though!

Joseph and or Enterprise would get my vote! 🖐

Can't find where to give a thumbs up on this, but having been to that area,  I heartily endorse this suggestion!
