Do you think the SW Motech skid platre would work with the HEED crash bars?

To my recall, there is a guy in FB group that managed fitting other brand plate, but heed also makes skidplates, steel or alu, black or natural.

Yes I have seen the HEED plate but I am worried about the bolt heads sticking out of the face of the plate.

Looks like they could easily be damaged by rocks etc.

I've  fitted HEED plate and nothing worries me at all, the bolt heads are round and stick out about 4-5 mm.  The shape of the plate is very simple, maybe  not nice looking but it's strong  and useful if bike needs to be lifted without the center stand. If I break something because of the HEED plate, I'll be the one to share with you.

Each thicker skid plate should be better than OEM one, that's for sure.

Thanks bro, for this interesting picture! I already got to use TouraTech luggage carriers, because I own two of the zega pro series, for other bikes. So I decided to take silver ones… it took me a Long time to decide it (for my Blacky)

All the best to Slovenija, from Graz/Austria...

Hello everyone.

I´m new here, but I have a question regarding Skid Plate and crash bars.

I like the Touratech Crash bars (low and top) and the SW Moto Skid Plate. Does anyone know if they fit together?

And the second question: Does anyone know how much the SW Moto skidplate wheigh?

Thank you kindly.

Regards

Kigoma

I like those bars.  Price is right.  No outlet in the U.S., but might be worth paying the freight.

Like many (I suspect) I've spent ages agonising over the best engine and tank guards to protect my new 700 from the inevitable crashes in our future.  Having just completed fitting upper and lower bars from Hepco & Becker I can say I am very impressed with their engineering quality and - in my humble view - they are the best looking of the 5 or so options available to us. Happy chappy!

Hi. I also am keen on this set up. Can you tell me what they weigh? I like the aluminium ones but not the ugly joiner at tank level.

FWIW I asked the guys at Dirtracks.ca (Dirtracks.com in the US) if they will be making crash bars for the new T7.

They said yes, soon as they can get their hands on one in Canada.

I've used their products on my XR650 for years - they've held up very well to a lot of abuse.

Anybody with the SW-Motech crash bars (upper and lower)?     Just curious about the gap between the upper/lower mounting point and how they handle in a real world drop.  Go to the 7 then drop down to the lower connection between the upper/lower for the gap I'm asking about.

Found this on another site.   Altrider crash bars and skid plate due out sometime in Q3.  The picture was e-mailed to Altrider supporters but unfortunately that's all the info I have.

Do the upper bars attach to the frame under the headlight?

Yeah, looks identical to the Adventure Spec Crash Bar mounting points. The side mounts slip under the side plastics, and you add a small bracket behind the headlight assembly that you mount the front of the bars to.
