Dealer reviews

Started looking in early 2021 for a T7, nothing in Las Vegas, nothing within 300 miles, then stretched it out to 500 miles with a google search of dealers. Lost interest for a couple months. Starting looking again in Aug, found one in Lakewood CO the second week of Sept.

G-Force Power Sports had 3 or 4 in their rental program, but were not going to release them for sale until late Oct.  I talked to Scott at the dealership and was able to put a deposit on one and settled in for the wait and pondered the short 1470 mile round trip drive, possibly in winter conditions on I 70. I'm from the desert, I only drive in 3" of snow  every 15-18 years.

I  sent a couple texts in the next couple days that were answered in a timely matter. Everything was good to go.

To my surprise, I got a call from Scott 8 or 10 days after I put the deposit down, the bikes are released!  Come get your bike!

It took a another 6 or 7 days to schedule time off to go get it. October 8th at 0100 I set off for Lakewood CO to pick the T7 up. The drive went smooth, no weather or cop related issues. I got to the  G-Force dealership at about 1330 MT time.  Everybody I dealt with at the dealership was nice and friendly, even the employees that did not know I was dropping a pile of money. The paperwork was in order and waiting for my missing pieces of information to finish it up.  Around 1530 I was loaded up and headed back to Grand Junction to spend the night.  I wished the bike would have been closer, I don't regret driving 22 hr's round trip to pick up the bike. The T7 has taken a little getting use to, compared to my street legal wr 450.

Good review to follow:

Capitol Yamaha in Sacramento,  Ca is great! Right after the zero response I got from my local dealer with my PDP reservation #, I started reaching out to just about every dealer in Ca.  I talked with Debbie at Capitol and asked to be put on a list in case PDP bikes weren't picked up by the person originating the order.  I was in touch with a half dozen dealers, but like many here,  I kept getting pie in the sky ship dates,  except from Capitol. She contacted me yesterday and said they had a red one available and would hold it until I got there to see it in the flesh and as they say, the rest is history. They were honest in their dealings with me, greeted me upon arrival and I was promptly introduced to the entire team at Capitol. They made me feel special ( no, not that kind of special 😉 ) and genuinely treated me with respect,  which is sometimes rare when buying a new vehicle.

I do most all of my own maintenance,  but will patronize Capitol anytime the need arises as they are now my go-to dealer.  👍

A big thanks to @Mr.motardedfor suggesting I get in touch with them.

I live about an hour outside of Sacramento, and have been scouring the internet looking at reviews for Capitol City Yamaha as well as a few others in the Sacramento Area.  I know it's a couple of years old, but your review is appreciated!  I am currently saving for a deposit to put down on a T7.  About half way there and I want to know who to give my business to.  Of course, it will depend on how they make me feel as a customer.  I just have to go in there in person and see how it goes.  Anyway, thanks again for your feedback!  Hoping to get a 2022 T7 in Blue!

I bought my T7 from Thousand Oaks Powersports, in Thousand Oaks, CA. I really do not like them.

The salesman was nice, but I didn't like a couple of things they did. First, I was asked if I wanted extended warranty, which I always do. It was like 1,200 bucks for 4 years. I thought that was pretty expensive but I went along with it.

A few weeks later I am looking through my paperwork and I realized that they sold me a third party warranty, not the factory warranty. No other dealer had ever done that to me.

I called them to cancel the warranty and after leaving several messages for the sales manager (the person responsible for processing a refund) and never hearing back from him, I called again and I told the guy who answered that I needed to talk to him about financing a bike. Of course he transferred me right away to the manager. All the times before when I told them that I was calling about a refund, the finance manager was always "very" busy. Poor guy!

He sent me the paperwork, I filled it out and e-mailed it back to him. To make a long story short, it took them over three months to mail out the check check to Yamaha Finance. It was excuse after excuse after excuse. It wasn't until I walked into the dealer in person and threaten them with suing them that they finally did. I don't know why they took so long since the insurance company mailed them a refund check within a week of receiving the cancelation request.

I did not like the fact that they sold me a junk third party warranty for 1,200 bucks, while the manufacture warranty for the same about of years is only about 500 bucks.

Also, I generally don't buy bikes from dealers that add a dealer's fee to the price of the bike. Some charge two or three hours assembly fees, when it takes them less that half an hour to get a bike out of a crate and ready for the showroom. A rip off!

I get that they have a fancy dealer but I should not have to pay for the flashy dealer displays and all the marketing they do. I know that most dealers do that now days but there are some honest dealers that don't.

Van Nuys Suzuki is one, and Poway Motorsports in San Diego ( a Honda dealer) don't charge a dealer's fee. Two small mom and pop's dealers that don't have the fancy displays and huge showrooms the big dealers do. They still do things the old fashion way. So far I have not found an honest Yamaha dealer that doesn't have all the extra fees most other dealers do.

I bought my T7 from this dealer because I walked in and they had a T7 in stock waiting to be bought. Only one salesman on the floor knew it was there and the mechanics. Not even the sales manager knew about it. While most across the country were on long waiting lists to get one, this dealer had one ready to be picked up by one lucky person. I happened to walked in on a Saturday morning to just buy a new helmet and rode out on a new T7. I guess they had it in their website because while we finished the paperwork three people walked in trying to buy it. I felt bad for them, they looked so disappointed.

Last April I called dealers for 2 weeks all over the US, including Alaska and Canada, shipping from Alaska was gonna be a pain and importing was not an option! I did locate like 6 in house at dealers in Ak,Mo,Az,Il. & Ok.
The blue in Mo (home state)sold quick, (3rd choice)

I instantly called Illinois on a white&red base at $10,800 (2nd favorite color)and put a deposit down told them I was trying to secure financing!🤥 so I could get my deposit back if I couldn’t!  To buy time to dicker on the Black (1st choice)“Adventure Pkg” in Oklahoma at Maxeys .  It was $1,100 more in just dealer fees than the base in Illinois for a total of $13,335 and that’s after I got them to leave the extra parts( crash bars, luggage rack, center stand) off and let me install it to save $500.  The guy was really short on the phone, and wouldn’t budge any! This was just after getting  $5250 off msrp on a new Subaru a few weeks earlier! Lol But I wanted it! So I called Illinois and canceled my deposit then called OKC and put a deposit down.  And have not regretted it for one second!

I'm so sorry guys but thanks to Moto Nord from Manresa (Catalonia) I will never buy a Yamaha motorcicle again.

As all you know my english level it's poor but I try my best.

When I went to get the bike with my car and trailer. They gave me a vehicle delivery certificate certifying that indicators, lights, tires, brakes, etc. had been checked. Mr. Rai Mañas started my motorcycle and put the speedometer in miles, saying that he only checked it. I got home and the bike did not work ABS or speedometer. The gauge on the bike was in miles.
The next day they repaired my bike but they removed the counterweight from the front spokes and put it on the rear wheel. To maintain my three-year warranty, I took the motorcycle to them. They didn't fix anything. I have complained to Yamaha several times, they have asked me for vehicle documentation but they have neither apologized nor done anything.

I will never buy a Yamaha motorcycle again.

Phoenix, AZ - Nash Powersports

Major props for Nash Powersports in Phoenix,  AZ.  Our son picked up a 2022 T7 from them in August and the service thus far has been very good. It had some superficial damage that we were told parts were on order from Yamaha, which have been slowly trickling in.  Realizing Nash is at the mercy of Yamaha regarding parts delivery, it's still a waiting game on a few pieces, but thus far, they've been a great dealer to work with.

If ever you guys need help with your Ténéré 700 and you're lucky enough to ride near the city of CH-7320 Sargans in the eastern part of Switzerland, Lucky Star will help you best for sure. I got my brand new Ténéré there last december. And not only did they prepare every detail on the bike as good as it gets but on my way home I did a little trick into the roadside's ditch that asked for a new clutch lever and handguard. It took them just 20 minutes to fix it. Their service is top notch.

I bought my T7 from Alford Brothers Folkestone Kent UK.

I called and asked about a particular 'pre reg' bike they had on their website, and after a discussion, arranged a test ride on their demo. After riding it I was convinced I wanted one, and went away to consider options/colours etc. I decided to buy the black pre reg' machine with a load of extras fitted, but I snoozed and it had sold when I called back...

They had a White, brand new unregistered, and offered me a stunning deal, along with a 3 Yr lease plan at super low Monthly payments, I could not resist.

Three Years of ownership, and I paid the finance off a few Months ago, after bonding with my bike on a couple of European Tours, I wanted to keep it, we have history !

Alfords are Pure Yamaha, they have superb Knowledge and employ top level mechanics and parts specialist, they have sourced a 16T sprocket (  OEM XSR700 I think )  serviced it with Yamalube Full Synthetic at my request and generally been super fast and great to deal with. I called with a list of things to be done a couple of Weeks before Annual Service, with a few specific parts I wanted, sure enough, on the Day, everything was waiting to be fitted and all was 100% perfect.

Proper old school ( in a good way ) Motorcycle dealer, mature and experienced staff, nothing is ever too much trouble.

Highly recommended for any Yamaha purchase, service or spare part.

Well Ireland been Ireland

spoke corrosion issue months later no resolve, been told I am the only one to ever have it, I must have done something to the bike. Blamed where I live, how I don't wash my bike, then said it must be what I wash it with when said I maintain my bikes very well. Also corrosion was there before wheels ever rolled on tarmac, even the chain was pitted. they blamed me for not lubricating it (again was like this when arrived new)

Not sure how UK is but here dealers are about as useful as local politicians
