Hand Grip Glue - Factory Overspill

Just a heads up on hand grip removal on the LH clutch side. If you are wondering why your switch gear casing wont come off there could be a very good reason.

On my bike they've used an annoying amount of glue under the hand grip. Whilst its not even necessary (especially with the rough bar finish) its slapped on heavily only covering the switch gear end of the grip - so they've failed here then; if the idea is to stop the whole grip from twisting/slipping.

If you check the pics out it spills over and onto the switch gear. (This is what they look like coming off a bike that hasn't even done 200 miles yet) Even worse the glue and plastic on the switch gear case dont agree with each other. My case would not close up until I had carefully filed away the combination of glue build up and melted plastic casing.

I can only assume that my casing was not closed up properly from the start and would have been susceptable to easy ingress of water. Its still not perfect but way better than it was.
