Speedo alternatives

Does anyone know something about any alternative speedo for the t7? The abs control function does create a hindrance.

Not sure for the T700 but I put a Trail Tech vapor on my DRZ400S and it works really well plus is a lot lighter. I'm sure something like that would possibly work if that's what you were after.

Has anyone ever tried this?

I'd love to get rid of that big thing and just have a big SatNav device in its place.

Could a MT07 or XSR700 (love the look and size of the XSR one) speedo with an additional ABS button work?

Sorry, I meant to add a link there.

I already got a response from Andrea:

The price will be 590 euros + shipping costs and the pre-order will be announced in December on Instagram channel.

This is the one I found:

SpeedoX One for Yamaha Tenere 700 is an advanced TFT 5" speedometer that replaces the OEM meter with a plug&play installation. Smaller than the OEM tacho, it frees up space in the dashboard to accommodate large...

You can use something like DMD2 paired with an OBD dongle and get the speed from the bike since you want to use a tablet. That's probably most accurate/cheapest.

Odometer and trip data is stored/computed in the dash, so you lose that functionality if you remove it. The T7 Slim has a provision for editing its odometer, so you can set it to whatever your OEM dash is at prior to swapping. I'm making a bracket for that for my tower.

Keep me posted on this.

The T7 Slim looks to be the most promising one IMO.

The DMD2 is a good idea, although I'm not sure if that's legal here in petty ol' Switzerland. I'm leaning towards a Garmin Tread 8" or 10" combined with the T7 slim and maybe a self-built tower, IF, and that's really an if, I do anything at all.

Very interesting, clever these Italians. The SpeedoX and Slim LCD are not compatible with the World Raid 2024 TFT (new type). Well, not yet.

And not street legal. So what we need now is the Yamaha software running on an Android tablet...that way you could minimise the Yamaha window and have full screen GPS with just minimal data and popup warnings, DMD2 style.

Both models even show fuel level! Has anyone here fitted these ?

It's neat to see another whole dash replacement out, but it's definitely not my thing. I'm not a fan of TFT dashes. No mention of ABS memory like the T7 slim, but I wouldn't be surprised if that came as a firmware upgrade in the future.

Exactly!  I don't see a 1" difference in screen height doing anything for me.  But move the data to a tablet, bueno!

By the way, can someone tell me what is the type of connector at the back of the TFT display ?

And is someone selling a 1m extension cable (male to female)?

Thanks
