Asshat encounter

This could've been a real short ride report. Testing out my new GoPro mount this morning, I "almost" got ran into by a real dumbass!  5 seconds sooner, things might have gotten ugly real fast!   The good news is the GoPro mount worked out fine, bike is so smooth it hardly showed any vibration.

my general rule when riding a bike is: expect everybody else to always behave in the most stupid way he possibly could at the specific moment when his action might affect you.

I hope it's comprehensive, I normally don't express it in English.

Isn't it also illegal in the US to overtake on an intersection? I know it is here. 🤔

I know rules don't keep stupid people from behaving like this but still.

Dang straight! Then there's that little detail of crossing a solid line and doing so while negotiating a blind rise and curve. It's not apparent in the video but, the offending vehicle couldn't see over the rise or around the curve, yet he felt his sorry ass schedule was more important than any one else's right to travel safely. 🤬

Dick move, but yes, all stupid drivers - all the time - is the prevailing safety strategy in this hobby, the best hobby on earth!
