Hello from Sicily

Hello there!

New member, but (rather) old motorcyclist. I'm 51, on a motorcycle since I was 14 (legally, at least), now waiting for my Rally Edition expected to come in October. It's my...umpteenth bike and the 4th Ténéré after a '87 1VJ, a '90 XTZ 750 (first travel out of Italy with that, to the Arctic Polar Circle in Finland), a 2011 XTZ 660. They were all in red and white, but this time I was bewitched by the Sky Blue of the Rally Edition. I've been three times to Nordkapp but since I have my two kids, my horizon is quite closer. More than 1.2 million kms of riding, my back isn't in the best of shapes anymore but it will do! I like to write as a hobby, along with wine tasting (I write on the Slow Wine guide as well). For the ones among you who like to read, I've published two books (in Italian) related to motorcycles...and life.

Welcome to the forum and enjoy your Rally Edition when you get it. I’m guessing Sicily island doesn't get too cold in the winter so you ride all year, so an October delivery isn’t a problem (unlike in Scandinavia countries).

Thanks! Yes, I ride all year round, temperatuers rarely go close to zero or below, if you don't climb mountains. Motorcycling is a great source of relaxation, I can't get enough of it...
