MT07 front sprocket fit?

Recommended Posts

I know it’s a 16T and that’s what I want I feel the 15T T7 sprocket makes 1st gear unusable unless your in a serious off road situation and even then I’m usually using 2nd gear to do all my starts. Literally hate starting off in 1st gear on the street.

Also not much adjustment left out back with a larger front added I’m only at the 3rd mark from back so pulling it forward with a larger front may be a issue achieving proper chain tension. Wheelbase will become shorter which doesn’t really concern me on this type bike.

I've put a 16T sprocket on the front, much better  on road/ highway. I'm too old and cripple for crazy off road excursions. Just lose a bit of engine braking on down hill loose surfaces, but you should factor in the main type of usage you are intending. No different to tyre choice. What is good for the road isn't that great off road. Some people are running 14T much better off road. What ever your intended riding surfaces favour sprocket choice can enhance your riding experience.

16 tooth front sprocket also helps with taming the wheel spin on steep gravel hills when in second gear.

Very glad I made the change to a 16 tooth front.
