Your rugged roads light bracket sticks out a lot further from the front of your bike than mine, did you use all four mounting holes to attach? I don’t want the same issue if you have it mounted like I do

I bought the same bracket, but as fare as I can see the front fender will hit the lights when the front fork is fully compressed if they are more than 2-3 cm high. Any real life experience ?

GPS and Roadbook mounts

Although the upper bar above the gameboy is really asking for a GPS or roadbook, in my opinion it is a little too much on show, the road ahead is a much nicer view.

Ive uses some cheap screw in RAM mounts over the blanked off aux port to create a really stable lower hanger,(bit of firestone roofing rubber to keep it waterproof)

On the other side I drilled a couple of holes through the headlight superstructrure for something similar

Both sides are very stable, farily well protected by the majority of windscreen and at a good distance to avoid distaction. Nice cheap job but using really good products.

You must have left milk and cookies out for him, if you leave beer and pretzels he is sure to stop.

Leaking coolant tank

After my bike decided to lay down and have a rest after coming down second to a rut coolant leaked from the tank. When I got home I removed this crappy tank held on by one screw and where the cap comes loose all the time, I epoxied the bottom knob which was split with ribbon epoxy and cut a small piece of plastic to support the tank and used some bicycle rubber tube with Velcro on to hold the tank lid down. Now the tank is a bit more secure.

Swapped out the OEM accessory socket with a twin USB outlet. Hopefully I'll get it all back together now. 😆

Right on!  Being winter here, I pulled my rear end apart in anticipation of new indicators coming. They took a long time to get to me and by the time they did it was about a month before I installed them and had to re-assemble the back end. Man, took awhile to figure out how it all goes. Theirs a lot of parts and a lot of fasteners back there!

Installed my Christmas presents and then took advantage of a 70 degree day in Alabama in December and went for a ride.

Completed 2 free mods today,

I cut the long end of the stock sidestand spring at the middle of the loop and rebent it.  Now the stand retracts with a bang (not as bad as it sounds) and It almost totally eliminates any retracted movement.

Then I completed an Easy Clutch pull mod.
I cut stock lever arm in half, then welded in a 1/2" extension.  Next was to bend in the cable guide to align.

Good stuff..... While you are there jam in 2 bits of anti vibration foam between the headlight and the side rails which reduces the headlight dash bobble shakes.

Took me a while and a couple tries to put mine back together, and I had only just taken it apart. My major complaint with this bike is why Yamaha has three different heads on the same 6mm bolts?

fitted 10mm preload spacers ,i machined up,to the front forks. i went with 10mm due to my wieght.with gear on about 100 kg plus i carry a lot of weight when off camping. not tried it out yet but should make a difference.

with the 10mm spacer i now have a static sag of aprox 45mm and rider sag ( no riding gear on) of 65mm. i may need to increase to spacer when i have all my gear on + camping stuff.....gulp !  but for now ill leave as is.

Put the touratech extreme hp rear shock on today. Greased all the linkages minus one, exhaust was in the way. Road around. Got excited back in the garage. Dropped it. Bent the steering and bars back to straight. Re road it. Man i like this bike and the TTEHP shock is gravy on top.

taking the TT cartridge forks to a pro on monday for install. Not sure i could do it myself. Want to, just scared i will break something.

Made some brackets and welded some bolts on and used some rubber stoppers to hopefully save my plastics after the bike came down the other day

Doesn’t the GPS unit interfere with the handlebar, when you fully turn it to the left side?

Not with my set up. I do have bar backs to move the steering closer to me but the clearance is fairly substantial.

Touratech closed cartridge forks installed.
paired with the hp rear shock the bike sits high and rides soft. Super consistent.
Also installed the powervision 3 from dynojet with the stock air filter and exhaust tune. Works great. Took 5 minutes. Noticed a new hum in the exhaust and puttin around the block in second the twitchy throttle is tamed. So far so good.
