KTech suspension upgrade, new Motoz tyres.

Finally bit the bullet and sorted out the woeful OEM suspension.

I chose KTech upgrade, front suspension full change out, rear new spring and revalve of existing shock, I went for my first trail ride yesterday a mix of Forest road and single trails, I couldn't stop smiling, the difference is enormous, the bike tracks beautifully, didn't come close to bottoming out, so much more confidence and control.

Matched up the new suspension with a set of Motoz tractionator adventure tyres after much deliberation on tyre choice, I'm extremely happy with them, mud, rocks, sand, handled everything with ease, they were a bit fresh to push on the road but seemed quite good and not too noisy when pressured up.

I didn't want to stop riding it was just sooo good, it was getting dark and my back hurt so home I went, can't wait for my next ride!

Thinking of doing your suspension, do it, best investment on this bike you could do!!

Did you do the full cartridge replace from K-Tech or the less expensive piston kit?Ā

For the rear shock did you do the K-Tech revalve or a different company? Also did you do a K-Tech rear spring or another brand?Ā

Ā

Sorry for all the questions. I'm considering the K-Tech piston kit and K-Tech shock revlave. IĀ came on the forumĀ to see if anyone has done it yet.Ā

Full cartridge front, KTech spring and KTech Valve kit, the guy who did mine said the KTech shock is good but the OEM rear is so similar that a revalve is just as good and a heap cheaper.

Just do it, I'm so impressed, it's awesome, I wish I'd done it sooner.

Thanks for the info, care to share why you went with full cartridges in the front VS the piston kit?Ā

It's better, and I'm able to afford it, I'm glad I did. I was so disappointed in the OEM suspension, it's a disgrace, I just wanted it to be right.

Woeful is certainly a good way to describe the stock suspension, Iā€™m at the lighter weight end on the scales compared to the blokes, and canā€™t imagine how it is for heavier riders.Ā Here in NZ šŸ‡³šŸ‡æ Scotty at MotoSR specialises in T7Ā suspension upgrades. I have had a spring change front and rear and revalve, works really well for me.

Ā

How do you find the Motoz adventure tyres? Iā€™m considering those to replace the stock strā€™s. Also what size rear did you fit? Hear a few different opinions on going to a 140 as opposed to the standard 150.

Ā

Cheers

Very happy with motoz, only one trail ride so far but I'm impressed, I went 150 rear can't see any advantage in change to 140 to be honest, also fitted UHD tubes.

I also went with the ktech upgrades and am very pleased.Ā  I weigh about 195 lbs before all the gear and the bike does fantastic for off road riding... And aggressive twisty pavement!Ā

Ā

If you are in the new england region of the United States, check out Computrack Boston.Ā  Did a great job for me.Ā
