That just connects to the charcoal filter so is no longer needed. I’d still prefer overflow/spill pipes on a tank mind. Just reboxed my acerbis. Can’t bring myself to fit it onto a white bike yet. 😂

You want to sale it?

I was actually considering it, but I do want a large tank for when I do travel. It does look good. Just a shame you can’t change the colour. Knowing my luck, Yamaha will bring a steel one out.

they are in stock now anyway.  And delivery is quick. Check out rugged roads. edit. Just realised your in states. Should be a load of acerbis dealers there? The factory are sending them out now so you should see them soon. 👍

Got mine and fitted it last weekend.  Might need to do something about the last white piece below the tank.

Made it to 300 miles yet?

and did you remove the sponge pads from inside the side panels like charlycrx did? Or do they fit well without messing about with them?

Only ridden 250km in piss poor weather this week so still to see how the fuel gauge behaves - and will be happy with 400km (250 miles) with a bit left. I usually have refilled it with 12-14liter so expect to able to use 20 instead - >that is a  40% incease in usable fuel.

And yes i removed the sponge pads as well

@Dougie Hiya mate. Can I ask what the cap is like on the tank? Does it make a nice airtight seal to the tank? I have a camel tank to which the breather pipe would be attached and I just want to make sure that a vacuum is formed so the fuel will be drawn from the camel to the Acerbis tank.

Cheers fella.

Seems a good normal right fit, as per old school, with the obvious hole through the cap for the breather. Not sure it would be 100%. I’ve decided not to fit it yet so can’t vouch for that.
so are you going 22L acerbis AND a camel? Where you going, Mars? 🤔😳

I take it the camel feeds the main tank on depression eh?

here a few photos of the cap to give you an idea.

@DougieMars!! Hahaha. The intended use for my T7 is long overland trips. I've also got a XT660Z with a 23 litre tank as standard; even with that, I had moments in Mongolia and Uzbekistan where I was running on fumes trying to find fuel. Thanks for the pics; looks like it should be OK.

Hello good people

I have just been installing my new Acerbis fuel tank.

I am having a few problems re-fitting the front side panels. The location peg at the rear of the top of the side panel is stopping the panel fitting properly.

Has anyone else had this problem, and if so is the solution to cut off the location peg?

Ah, the site I bought mine from (T7rally.com) had it listed as 23L, but the official Acerbis listing says 5.8 liquid gallons which is actually 22L.

Out of curiosity what was the total cost and how long did the tank take to arrive from T7Rally?

Thanks

Acerbis do a lockable cap that does away with the breather

Final cost was $552.23  (£409.12).

Took about a week from the day I ordered until it arrived.

@devmarc My understanding is that the fuel from the camel tank is drawn into the Acerbis via the breather pipe (the system being vented via the camel tank). So, doing away with the breather would mean drilling the Acebis, which I'm not keen on. Got mine on order with an ETA in December, so I'll work out the details then.

Cheers.

Couple angles on the white/red for anyone interested. With my 16t front I got 350km of mixed highway/city/trails before reserve kicked on. Only run one tank through so far.

Yes,all on uk roads ranging from 30-60mph with only about 40 miles of it on motorway at 70mph.I imagine it would be less if it was all at motorway speeds and probably more if it was all off road.

For comparison, mine was lots of 80-85mph while on the freeway and very throttle happy off road so I have no doubt my actual range while behaving would be way more in line with others.

Thanks for posting your results. I dont know what other forum you speak of (is there another one 🙂 ) but the important figure is when the fuel gauge starts flashing. Looks like you got 84 miles or slightly under a quarter of the tank when on reserve. I get roughly 4.7 L/100 so that gives me about 470 kms to a tank, 355 till the flashing light and then another 115 klms on reserve.

The other thing I like about this tank is that it has a large fuel cap and filler hole, so would be easier to fill up to the top.
