Yes, i mounted a Shad SH33 on the same rack!

If you could snap a picture of that I'd be eternally grateful. I have an SH29 at the moment, may get a bigger case at some point.

Just fitted the OEM mono seat as it provides a good base for my ancient but excellent Kriega tail pack.  On a long trip I empty the tail pack and chuck my throw over panniers over the top...works well for me.  My panniers are pretty knackered now so may get either the Kriega OS or maybe Mosko moto reckless 40. Cheers,  Steve

My only wish is for that seat to be less expensive...

Yes, I agree..it's pretty expensive for what it is!. But it's great that you can remove it with the key and it fits really well. As I'm unlikely to be going on a bike trip I'd planned and saved for I'm treating the T7 to some goodies!! Cheers,  Steve

I am planning to use  a Pelican 1500 as a topcase attached to the Outback Motortek tail rack but I wanted to understand the available material on the top plate since I have to drill or find a way to attach the case to the top plate.

I was hoping that someone can help by providing the measurements and visual info of the OM rack.

  • A- Vertical distance between attachment bolts
  • B- Horizontal distance between attachment bolts
  • C- Clearance between the top plate and rear tail section (under the top plate)
  • Picture- OM top plate - picture of the underside (I want to make sure I don't drill in anything crucial to the rack)
  • Picture- OM top plate - picture from the top

Is there any small side rack (tubular) that is mounted above exhaust, or is there anyone who tried to adapt and mount exhaust higher and closer to the bike ? I've seen that guy from CamelADV did it, but I am not sure if he just mounted it higher or closer to the frame too.

I want side rack that is closest to bike frame as possible, outback motortrek for example are crazy wide. (you can almost mount one small bag between bike frame and rack itself)

I also want to mount exhaust higher and little bit closer to bike frame too, because it would solve rack problem and original position is bad in my opinion, swing arm is first thing that it is going to be damaged with or without racks. If I succeed to make exhaust higher I could make rack that is almost symmetric but a lot closer to the bike than before.

With the SHAD plate mounted you can still get the rear seat on/off without interference? Also does it take away any real estate from where a passenger would sit?

Yes, but that's by choice, i want the case to be as far forward as possible because i hate the look of a case sticking out.

But the case can be mounted further out and the pillon seat is removable still while the case is closer to me, another thing, if you use the holes in the mounting plate from Shad on the ADVspec rack the rack is a tad out of the middle.

I did not like that so i drilled 2 holes en used the slots that are in the rack already to mount the rear bolts with washers, i will post pics as soon as i get my rack back!

I'm going to try a set of Joe Rocket Reactor bags to see if they are as solid as their clothes are.  Price is favorable to the point where they can be treated like the rest of the bike will be treated!  In other words, I wont feel bad about thrashing them!006110-Reactor-Saddle-Bags-570x570.jpg

Awesome set up !

What tyres are those out of interest? Is it a 150 rear or have you squeezed a 140 on it?

Cheers

Nice setup Tvileren.

How does the blizzard XL fit without rack?

Thanks 🙂

It’s almost like it’s made for the T7. Sits nice and tight, and with the clips (custom made by Norway’s resident enduristan dealer) fastened to the hepco&becker rear rack it takes max 1min to put on and less to take off.

Covered the cover with foil of course.

Cheers Thomas

Not see anyone else with this setup so wanted to share. Using the Adventure spec rack with Lomo bags. I wanted something streamlined and versatile without breaking the bank and the ability to upgrade to a more rugged bag setup down the line (mosko moto/enduristan etc). Took me a while to get it stable enough to where I was happy, used rokstraps through the rack and passenger footpegs. Fine for roads and gravel but may bounce outwards from the bottom (fourth picture) more than I'd like on bumpy offroad.

Anyone aware of similar straps without the flex of the elastic?

With these and a duffel across the back i think im good for most trips but, im considering adding the adventure spec top luggage rack further down the line

Considering putting together a video series on all the changes ive made to bike if that would be of interest.

Happy riding!

That's setup looks very nice on the bike...👍

Lomo seems to have quality products but haven't been in the motorcycle industry for long now... But they have massive experience in other industries and are highly rated.

I like the bags and the rack as well... Definitely an alternative to consider as they are a fraction of the cost of the more expensive brands.

@Rich TT this might be an option as well... 👍

I love the Lomo stuff, I just have a tankbag & 40l rollbag fastened to the bike with rokstraps - no need for racks etc !

I confirmed today with Roger at Caribou that the Pelican cases I have on my Super Tenere which are on Hepco Becker racks, will go straight on T7 with Hepco Becker racks...
