It's Easter and the backcountry is packed with people from the city.  I stopped for a dart after an hours riding back in the hills and a convoy of 4x4 guys came down the side road, when they pulled up it was like "Are you ok?  All good?"  I swear those guys just drive around looking for someone to help.  😁

Today I was out on the T7, sorry no pics, and when I got off onto the dirt road after a 20 ride out the first thing I encountered was another convoy of 10 or 11 4x4's.   I'm getting confident on the dirt now, I stand up whenever I sense a complication and as I passed them they all slowed right down and moved over.  They are real considerate bunch those dudes.

It's so weird being in 2nd/3rd gear and crawling along, but getting used to it!

Hell yeah.  I came to the crest of a steep hill today and had slowed down to like 30k.  I was still in 5th gear and the bike pulled along like a tank, amazing engine.  Imagine doing that with a thumper.

I met a serious MX racer last year, and let him do a few rounds on my bike on a local track.

He was amazed he could pull off from standstill without any throttle input 😂

On January 30, 1925 a westbound train running from Londonderry to Burtonport, on the Burtonport extension viaduct encountered a gale of 100mph that caught the train broadside on.  One carriage plunged through the parapet, pulling another with it. The couplings held and neither of the vehicles fell into the valley, but roof destruction caused several passengers to be thrown out, three people being killed outright, a fourth dying later in hospital. Being situated on a north-south section of the line, the 30ft.-high viaduct, across Glen Lough and over the Owencarrow River, caught the full force of the westerly gales.

100Mph, you wouldn't be riding your bike there on a windy day either.

It was an Irish Photo Rally spot.
It's a great way to learn about the island of Ireland and the 24 venues change every year.
There's 6 points in each Province. The link below explains the Rally and its purpose.

It's not a competition and there's no main prizes but...each year the committee  will conjure up a few ''awards''.

I'm always pretty happy when I'm firing away on my bikes and it seemed someone noticed I always had a grin on my face.

So, in 2020 they sent me back one of my own photos, mounted and called it the  'Miles of Smiles' award.

And, some sketchy stuff from a mail delivery vehicle "converted" to right hand drive to get closer to the rural mail boxes - I was sharing the road with this:

Beautiful area it seems!

Regarding that mail guy: I'm often complaining about German restrictive law when it comes to vehicle upgrades/modifications.

Now I see more purpose in it. Seriously, police would immediately confiscate the car and he'd lose his driver's license for six months or more.

That "belt drive" mechanism is completely insane 🤣

Decided to try the T7 on the singletrack trails I've been developing nearby for the MTB. Still a bit tight for this big machine but still impressed what it can do.

I love it. It may look sketchy, and heck it might be sketchy, but I'd bet that mail person puts in more accident free miles a year than most if not all of us do.   Heck I have accidents on my bikes multiple times every year. 🙂

Finally got out for a decent ride! Didn't manage to find dirt, but did find a nice view. Saw some dirt bikers heading down some lanes and was tempted to follow in search of trails, but up here have to be cautious with the private land owners/users!
