MotoWinch 2500 - Tool Tubes

I have the Burmot rear rack and soft luggage plate. Was trying to figure out how to hold tools plus the MotoWinch 2500. This is my solution. Two tool tubes, one containing the main elements of the winch, the other just the hand winch part plus some other tools. This tube installed nicely under the right side of the Burmot soft luggage plate. I have another arriving tomorrow for the right side which can either contain more tools plus the hand crank or a 1.5L bottle of fuel.

Not sure if that will hold.
When the tywrap breaks the mounting point on the tooltube will also break.

It might be at bit less as when you mount it on its side like i had on de Crosstourer but that one went flying on the TET south Netherlands.
Made a new mount and on the XT660Z i also cut the mounting points off and used 2 exhaust mounts.
This is what happened and what i made for the CT.

And this is what i did with the XT. Went for a single exhaust and used the second exhaust mounting point plus a home made mounting point.

Ray, you're spot on. My original idea when buying these was to manufacture brackets exactly like you did. If I'd been doing a TET that would have been the only way I'd have gone. However, I won't be doing TET's and mostly just touring and light off-roading and I believe these will hold fine for that. And if they don't, I'll make some aluminium brackets for them. 👍 Your brackets look the business, tho.

You don’t find the twin torpedo tubes obscuring the tail light excessively? May just be the perspective in the pics, but it appears rather disappeared.

I was wondering the same.  Ticket waiting to happen?

A ticket at best, rear ended at worst.

No, it’s just the pic. Tail light shows just fine.

Mate, just to update this thread. Initially it looked fine but I studied this mount further and whilst the tail light is perfectly visible from directly behind, it's obscured from either side. For that reason I'm removed them and back to the drawing board.

Fair play Dunc. Kinda my thought,

that it was highly obscured from anywhere but 6 o’clock.
Takes an admirable dose of smarts & humility to actively second guess ourselves. Good luck back @ the drawing board!
