Standard Andreani cartridges are 200 mm but in collaboration with Andreani Spain we have modified them to 220 mm (initially we wanted 230mm but was technically imposible). That was a big step ahead, much smoother begin and very progressive at the end. After 2000 km I would say the best upgrades are by order:

1. Rapid Bike Evo ECU

2. Andreani front Fork

3. Ohlins Rear shock

4. Akrapovic full exhaust

5. UniFliter air filter

Could you please give us more information about the Rapid bike evo in detail if you have a minute or two to the spare...

I'm very keen on getting one... Does it make a big difference, how hard to install etc?

Aleks 😊

1. Barkbusters

2. Water pump protection

3. Engine Guard

4. Fill with fuel

5. Ride the rubber of it, replace tires, repeat 4 & 5 continuously. (I'm retired)

Hello Aleks, the Evo version is straight forward mounting and it does make a big difference, it's another bike.

Here are the pics on how is installed on my T7.648173220_AllPhotos-1of1.thumb.jpeg.daab1e79c5a96dcde383fb1fa56ec04c.jpeg1883215548_AllPhotos-1of1(1).thumb.jpeg.330f5eddfcc8b97eecaa9c5c8119bc12.jpeg

As said elsewhere, the issue of 'upgrades' is very subjective.  I need an 'all roads' tourer, taking in little more challenging than ripio/mud/gravel roads.  So, reliability/durability is a priority and I'm pretty certain the T7 has it in abundance, at least if my dealings with other Yamahas is anything to go by....   Otherwise, my first five add-ons are:

1. Engine bars, just in case.  I went for the OEM bars after a bit of researching of various alternatives....

2. Heavy duty skid plate, again just in case.  Again, I went for the OEM as bolting on the toolbox option could be useful in some circumstances.

3. Centre stand, to make maintenance easier when away from the workshop.

4. Scottoiler - I've had these on various bikes for 20 yrs and  imo they're a great asset.

5. Givi rack/pannier rails to take my old, well-travelled Givi boxes which have been durable - so far.

Things to do are fitting more durable handguards such as Barkbusters; extending the skid plate to cover the bottom of the rear shock; and getting tyres I prefer.

The jury's still out on whether I prefer the T7 to my T660, which luckily I've held onto.

I throw in my 2 cents: While maybe not mandatory, I can tell you they make a HUGE difference.

~Rally Raid upgraded heavier rear spring

~Camel headlight anti bobblehead

~Skid plate (Camel as it has the linkage protection)

~Engine case guards (Triple Clamp)

~tires (Motoz Tractionator RallZ)

~T7Rally screen adjuster (I use this every time I get on the freeway for more than 20 minutes, absolutely amazing and cheap)

Also,

~crash bars (Adventure Spec)

~larger foot pegs (IMS)

~handgaurds (Cycra Pro)

Do the seat hack (free!)

Mount dirt-worthy tires (not free, but the OEMs stink on dirt)

Adjust the throttle free play (free! comes really sloppy)

Shorty levers (especially clutch - gotta practice them clutch-up wheelies)

Centerstand (so much easier to work on, + looks better in the garage)

Luggage rack (how else are you gonna carry stuff?)

Take off windscreen (free! If you're going to do harder off-road, the windscreen is poised to chop your face in half if you overbalance into it - plus better off-road visibility)

I would say:

Barkbusters

crash bars

Pannier Rack

Tail Tidy

LED indicators

Just put in the deposit for the T7 Rally supposedly to arrive in March.

I’m thinking top mods

crash protection (thinking about the outback mototrek)

Phone mount (quad lock)

and honestly that’s it for starters, maybe some hand guards but I’ve never used them on my dirt bikes, so if they break I might opt for something else..

all the above mods seem super cool but I’m just gonna ride the bike and see what happens...

cheers

You seemed to have hit the nail on the head. It seems that this forum, and half the WWW indeed is about pushing product, and now that people have got their new bike they need to keep buying things to keep that "I just got something new" feeling going. Don't get me wrong, i'm sure much of the product out there is useful for some of the people some of the time, but for most of the people most of the time......?

I don't know, I don't even have a bike on the road these days, I did commute for the best part of 25 years, and certainly when I was young I used to go on long rides, camping trips and stuff like that quiet often. Somehow I managed to get by without all the "stuff" and still do all the riding I wanted, where I wanted to.

Having said that here is my top 5 anyways....

1, petrol, gas, whatever you call it, we are going to need this every so often...

2, chain lube, applied on regular intervals but maybe not as often as that gas stuff,

3, barkbusters, or similar, cuz I know i'm going to get the bike dirty and drop it in the bush,

4, saddlebags, for longer trips as my old bags are, well old and one is permanently attached to my tractor,

5, T7, now this is the hard one, they are $17,129 where I live and I don't got that much $$$ just yet but i'm definitely going to need the bike to start with.

Of course there will be replaceable items, like tires, and also riding gear, if you don't got all the gear, of if you need new gear as it too does wear out, but that's about it for me I think. I may get a better bash plate ONLY when I feel the standard one is not up to my riding style, but then I may just beef up the standard one myself as it is so small and tidy and seems to cover what really needs covering.

Some people enjoy their bike only riding.. other people enjoy  their bike riding & customizing it.

Why enjoy  only in one way?

Of course we don't need all those improvements in our T7, but reducing to necessity, we don't need a T7 either.

Thank you, I appreciate the compliments on the bike... Managed to pull the T700Sm only due to people on this forum and the help of the biker community... @Rich TTis the main man to blame as he started the thread...😅😅

@AndyJ is next in line with some nice cast wheels...

Would be good to have two SM setups on the forum and more to follow after we have ironed out all the small wrinkles for other to follow. 😋🏍️💨

 Nice bike @Aleksandar13  !

I leave you a pic from  of a Spanish mate with Mt-07 road wheels... it is a popular tunning.

I have made a thread about the Healtech installation and setup ... Healtech quickshifter is awesome 🤣😍👍 - Parts and upgrades reviews - Yamaha Tenere 700 Forum

Please have a read... I am 99% there with the setup and it works very well and one of the nicest things to have on this bike after Exhaust 😄
