Replaceable Exhaust Hanger Modificat

Went ahead and modified my exhaust hanger in preparation for a custom Ti enduro bend exhaust I'll be fabricating.  Obviously not done with the stock exhaust, so I followed @Jeff Brown's approach on YouTube (

), but with real hardware.  Ended up welding a 1/2 tube inside the forward hanger tube and made a sleeve adapter for the rear hanger tube, tapping threads on the backside to simplify installation.  Pretty pleased with the results, even if only an interim configuration.  Fabbed a bracket to mount a TBR carbon can in its place to fab my Ti midpipe.20221221_194452.jpg.646bfd8dd3052f89cdeeb99de733e4f6.jpg

Coat of paint and buttoned up with no external visible sign of the modification1333073851_20221222_1227071.jpg.05229ac46e4db64e5b804f945f3bf7b7.jpg942833053_20221222_1226361.jpg.1759d0af29427eb7504da1c4cdc387f8.jpg.  The "sleeve" on the rear tube will be split into two halves to provide better clamp up next time it's apart, but it's plenty secure as is for now.  The other lesson learned on the front tube was to cut it back a bit further to allow for the weld fillet.

Nice work!  Much sturdier than pvc too! 😉

Although it was evident splitting the sleeve would be an improvement, the first ride necessitated it as there was noticeable movement.  Didn't take a pic, but easy mod accomplished with major improvement.  Debated adding split sleeve on front hanger tube, but it seemed solid with just the one.
