Hi,

I just ordered the oem side pannier racks for my T7 and I'm wondering if there are any hard or soft case options for the oem rack ? ( I dont want to buy the oem side cases)

The problem is actually with the side, so i dont know if any givi cases would be compatible with it...

Thanks for your help 🙂

Hi,

If you've ordered the OEM side pannier racks, you can likely get a manufacturer-specific plate that fits on the rack , and then that plate affixes to the a specific  soft side case.

The Givi cases should be compatible with the Yamaha rack because the the OEM panniers are made by Givi.  Givi only offers two pannier racks for the Tenere, so they have to fit the entire range of panniers that they make, including the Yamaha ones.

You can see in this picture that the Givi rack has the mounting assembly for Monokey cases, which is what the Yamaha ones are (the second picture).

Right.  Because it's not flat, you're right, the Yamaha panniers (Givi) are the only option.  I had the same problem with my Africa Twin.  Remember, though, if you opt with another manufacturer's rack, the entire rack is going to be sticking out past the exhaust, making your bike really wide.  Some of them offer an equal offset option as well as an option where the non-exhaust side is closer to the bike.  I personally choose to avoid the whole mess altogether, and have gone with a rear [tail] rack and soft panniers with no rack.
