Swing arm void/storage

Recommended Posts

Does anyone store stuff in there?

I've got two tyre levers, motion pro tyre lever/rear wheel spanner, and my d.i.y trail stand in two layers of bicycle inner tube plus a spare clutch lever separately and there's still a bit of space that I'm tempted to pack out with a rag

Yes. There's a couple of discussions that popped up searching swingarm storage that mention this.  Good unused void that keeps the weight low.

Impressed you can get a tube in there!

That wouldn't have even occurred to me to try

I just can't wrap my head around jamming stuff inside the swingarm.  Not sure if it's because it adds unsprung weight or if I'm just an old fuddy who believes things shouldn't be stuffed inside it.

Carry on... 🙂

For me, it's an organization issue. I don't want all my tools and parts scattered all over the bike. I carry a tool kit under the seat with smaller commonly used tools, and a second one in a pannier with larger tools and tire changing stuff.

My wife grew up in a small house with storage issues. She just finds a nook or cranny to store stuff with no organization at all. It drives me crazy!  🤣
