Slight hiccups Accelerating, new TPS +Assembly

Question

Posted (edited)

Hi,

While traveling had a TPS issue after lot of pain and anguish Yamaha gave me for free (thx God) TPS + Throttle assembly.

Local Mexico Yamaha  dealer installed it and I just got the bike back couple of days ago.

But I've noticed a couple of minor issues (no warning lights etc though) -

  1. Used to be able to simply hit the start switch and the motorcycle would start, now need to rev accelerator, idle is seems fine so far once started.
  2. More importantly, sometimes when I accelerate especially from a stop i feel a slight hesitation/hiccup in acceleration, might even have conked out 1 time.

I'm guessing they didn't get the Throttle Body Sync right? Can i personally diagnose the problem a little?

Any and comments welcome, since obviously i'm taking it back to the mechanic, but need to be somewhat prepared.

Did they calibrate the TPS after install? I think this is procedure that requires Yamaha's diagnostic tool.

They definitely have Yamaha diag tool, but I personally can not confirm, if they calibrated it or not. If asked them, i'm sure they'll say yes anyway.

How would u suggest to deal with this?

That's what I think, too - TPS calibration is critical.

P.S.: Had been mentioned before in your other thread, just to be on the safe side: Dirty fuel? I'd refill with the best grade available.
