Another tyre advice!!

Currently running trailmax missions which are good for long range touring and done me well for the last 9k miles.
prepping for another long tour with motorways and trails, amd looking for a longish life tyre with most importantly, a stiff sidewall that would get me to a repair shop if need be on the rear, as ill be solo.
trailmax missions are quite stiff but wet grip is shite.
any similar tyres with very stiff sidewalls that can limp me in case of a rear puncture?

motoz tractinator? GPS? RallZ?

thanks

My positive experience with a MotoZ GPS rear on my T7 is documented in this thread:

Although my experience with Dunlop Missions was on an R1200GS, I fully concur with your assessment of the rear Mission's less than stellar performance in wet conditions which started out bad and just got worse as the tire wore. I finally removed it when about half-worn because it had become a liability in the wet.

In every way except perhaps total mileage (looked like the Mission would have won that battle due to its rock hard rubber), the GPS was far and away the better tire in all conditions both on- and off-road.

Today I’m planning to change my tires ; removing my mitas e07+ for a Tusk 2 Trac

The e07 has been a decent tire .  Reports on its mileage vary widely , but i got almost 12,000 kms out of it riding a lot of dirt/gravel. That’s taking it almost down to the wear bars. I would say 9-10,000km’s out of it should be totally fine. So, maybe a short lifespan for the Trailmax range you are used to.

They are renowned for their stiff side walls. I think if that rear went flat , it would take a minute to even notice.

the tusk 2trac I’m about to mount however, makes the e07 look like chewing gum. I can sit on the unmounted tire and it doesn’t squish at all. Should be a fun time mounting them with spoons today lol.

Tusk is doing a recall on these tires, but I just got my new one from them. So perhaps they are available again.

From the research I did before buying , if you are doing a lot of highway you would likely want something like the GPS. More road biased. Next in line would be the tractionator adventure.

for a lot of highway and wet road performance, I think the RallZ might not be a good fit

For my new front tire, I’m mounting the Motoz dualventure. It has a very stiff sidewall, so I imagine the GPS or Adventure would be similar

the 2track rear is meant to be a more affordable option the compares to the Motoz adventure which is why I’m trying it .

all that to say, for more touring as opposed to off-road, with a long lifespan, I would be looking at the Motoz GPS.

My choices are all with more gravel/off-road in mind.

The Heidenau Rangers have the stiff sidewall on the rear tire. I've got some miles on them and they handle good.  We'll see on the longevity.
