Mysterious rubber piece

Hi there, I'm a T7 noob with less than 1000km on it. When taking down the right fairing the other day with a friend, we discovered this rubber piece loose  behind the fairing. It doesn't seem to fit anywhere and I wasn't able to locate it on the parts drawing. It has an embossed `R` and the back side has some adhesive on it. Does anybody knows what is it? Thanks a bunch.

Very mysterious... 

In fact not, it's known that it's a piece that falls out when you take off the fairing. Don't need it, just leave it out.

Have you used the search function? Probably answered multiple times

As Lewie mentioned above, this issue is brought up in a fresh thread at least once every six months or so. In your defence, the search function on this forum is pretty trash. Whenever I want to search the forum I do a google search and always include the words “tenere 700” and google will usually give me a list of hits within this forum.
