Greetings from Norway 🇳🇴

New to the forum and from Norway 👋

Been a lurker for a while and naturally read a lot of threads when looking up T7 info, decided to jump in for real.

Been riding mostly sports/asfalt bikes (2000 Triumph Daytona 955i (crashed 😔) and 2015 Aprilia Tuono 1100 Factory) but a few years ago my father convinced me to attend a gravel/offroad training with him (BMW GSA 1200), and I was hooked!

Took a few years to get in a position to transition to a more gravel/offroad oriented bike, but we're here now ✊

Was a bit torn between T7 and 790/890 Adventure R, but the reliability issues with the KTM's and a good talk with a local suspension guru leaned me towards the trusted Yamahas.

Contemplated a World Raid but decided to look for a "base model" since I would most likely snowball into a little "project"anyway.

Managed to sell the Aprilia last autumn and saw a local, fairly stock 2021 base model for sale the same weekend. Went to test ride it and fell in love imediately. Brought it home the same day!

Spent the rest of the season exploring some mountain roads while getting to know the bike.

Gathered parts during the winter to upgrade some stuff and make it "my own", spent the early summer working on the bike and testing out changes.

Been a lot of work and traveling this year, so hopefully more time for longer adventures next season.

Looking to explore some more local mountain roads and dabble in some TET tracks.

Here's some pictures from last year (matte black) and this years shennanigans:

As bought.

First time out hooning with my usual partner in crime.

Took its first dirt nap.. so the "ADV patina" is coming along.

Thank you!

Yeah, forgot to write it here but that's the most recent hurdle - finding handguards that fit with the Twalcom dash relocator.

I also use a Touratech lockable mount for the GPS and it sticks out a bit more than the factory Garmin mount.

The Zetas that were on it hit the dash and GPS hard.

Bought a set of Acerbis X-Factory (steel) as they were said to be clearance-friendly.

They might work on the left side (clutch), but doesn't look like it on the right. Quickly tried to make them fit before traveling away for work now.

Also the mountings for the covers on the Acerbis use a lot of space for the levers, so didn't really like that..

I'm fairly sure the Barkbuster Sabre ones will fit, but they have no impact protection (MX-style stuff).

I'd prefer to not change the bars or get risers.

If anyone has any recommendations I'm all ears!

Welcome @Hovde !

Very nice looking bike I have to say.

What area of Norway are you from?

I'm very much looking forward to returning to Norway, last time was 2016. Meanwhile, please don't get tired of posting pictures...

Thank you @qInvention!

I live in Trondheim 👋

When you do, and if you're passing by the Trondheim area, don't be afraid to give me a shout! Might be able to join for some riding, or at least recommend some routes ✊

I'll do a little picturedump from this year so far 👀

Trying to get better at taking pictures.. it's so easy to get lost in the riding and just keep going 😅
