I think I have a defective

My legs are just too short. I’m fine in the dry semi level offroad, but, I just recently spent my day of riding sliding through mud and rocks over the mountains in Montana. Is anyone aware of leg extension mods? I’m already using lowering links, shaved seat and great tires. The tip overs are just tiresome. I’m just not going to take this bike every where all the time. I would rather have my Steel framed WR450 with extra large tank back. I guess I am just realistic on limitations and abilities. All I could think about all day was….why didn’t I just truck the yz250x down here to ride around all day. It must be nice to have a 34+ inch inseam. So jealous.

There are ways to lower the bike to make it more manageable for you if you wanted. I'm sure you know that. But it's really about just enjoying your time out. If you enjoy your time more on a smaller bike then do it! Life is short enjoy your adventures friend.

Lower you go ,the closer the skidder gets to the big rocks. I have three bikes. There is no unicorn bike and I am not a pro rider. I’m 52 and losing time for those hard days out. I just can’t go into the unknown on the T7.

Totally get what you're saying for sure. Just got to find that in-between spot that works best for you.  Also meant to say before beautiful country photos you shared. Is the building an old homestead site or something of more historical?

Put up with it for now, then trade it in for the explore model when it arrives there. I’m sure it’ll sell well. You can probably continue to lower it more with the things you already do for the standard T7. 20mm shorter to start. Old scramblers didn’t have much suspension travel. Look at Steve McQueens. Don’t forget these are rough travel bikes, not crossers or enduros.

Unless it's absolutely bone dry you'll need proper off road tyres ie enduro tyres as per your wr/enduro bike. Adventure tyres just don't cut into/grip in mud. Even more aggressive looking dual sport tyres just don't work, the blocks are too close together and not deep enough.  One exception might be the 'Swiss army tyres' which are sort of trials tyres with deep blocks but fairly close together

I've taken over 60mm off my bike with home made linkages on the rear and shorter springs at front.

How often do you need lots of ground clearance. very rarely and for that I put on an AXP 8mm skid plate so I can bottom out to my hearts content.

I'm a one bike person and this is the best compromise I can find for the T7.
