Moving to the Inner Passage

Hey all! I'm planning on moving to Alaska and was wondering if anyone else was in POW or Ketchican.

Where are the good places to ride / camp? What bear relates kit do I need? And am I legally required to fish & hunt?

For camping in bear country I would recommend a gun, yes bear spray, horn and/or bear bangers can be effective but not 100% of the time, espicially if they have food on their radar or been desensitize to it...  keeping food away from your camp site is they way to go, they don't care about you they care for food.... I live in the middle of nowhere,(not Alaska) we have lots of black bears and I say that but I never bring anything for them but I also almost never tent in the bush in August and September which is when the bears are the most brave and actively trying to find food.  The main thing even if you don't have anything to defend yourself is don't act like a prey.
