Coolant Temp Warning Issue (T7 2019 E4)

splitdec

Question

Hi all,
I have issue with Coolant Temperature Warning blinking randomly for a quick second and it reads "HI" on display, sometimes as soon as I turn on bike, and sometimes in the middle of riding, but never for more than a second. Did anyone had similar problem?
P.S. There is enough coolant, radiator is working normally, and temperature reading besides that quick second are normal, even when hard riding in terrain. (no overheating)

Thanks in advance

The sensor is a thermistor, high resistance (open circuit) would indicate cold and low resistance (shorted circuit)  indicates hot. Normal range is in-between.

It could be a faulty coolant temp sensor but more likely the wiring to it has rubbed through somewhere and is grounding momentarily to the frame causing the false high reading.

The coolant temp sensor is located in the back of the cylinder head just below the throttle bodies.

If i would turn on my bike and it reads "HI", i would respond with "Hello". What a friendly bike...

I suspect a loose wire connection.

Thank you both for answers, crazy thing happened, little stone got stuck near the wires and was creating lever and was extending wires. After removing it and checking all the wires are in the place I got no warning anymore.
