Yamaha Tenere 700 Air Filter

Hi guys,

I see that Yamaha says the MT-07 Air Filter gets changed every 40,000km 24,000 miles !!!!  Sounds crazy but I suppose it is based on clean city roads....

Do you think this is reasonable?

Obviously on Dirt Roads you will change it more often?

On Flea-Bay UK a Hiflo Air Filter is about £15 or say $20 so its not exactly costly.

Is it easy to replace on MT-07 - can we assume it will be similar on the T7?

No big deal, I was just thinking about it...

Air and Oil Filters are everything to looking after an engine - and good spec oil, of course   🙂   asking questions about engine oil on a forum is like asking for political opinions (except mine is always right hahaha 🤣)

That is accurate mileage intervals if you are riding mostly street, but not if you are riding dusty dirt roads. Whenever I ride behind other riders, my airfilter fills up with dirt.

Hi there,

Air filter access/replacement is dead easy.  Remove pillion seat, and there is a 'hidden' allen key slotted into the back of the rider's seat. Use this allen key to undo the seat and you will find the air filter intake below the seat.  Undo the high level snorkel to access the filter.  It is obviously situated in a high/dry/relatively clean air area to prevent sucking in mud/water etc.
