New pirelli mt21 on 140/80

Hi everyone

there will be snow in 90 days in Québec Canada so before snowmobile time I want to share some feelings about my new tires

today I trail test new pirelli mt21 Front and rear in 140/80/18 Instead of 150/70 (Much cheaper in this size)

1- at recommanded 30/36 psi f/r like Yamaha said it’s horrible

On loose sand they didn’t float at all and wobble all over the place

2- so I drop the pressure Until I find the sweet Spot and I find that 22/26 f/r give me a lot of traction without having fear of pinch flat. Less more rear wheel free spin

3- The height augmentation is almost imperceptible from stock tire

4- much more confident when riding on wet soil

5- not so noisy on road, just a little bit more than stock tire

6- braking under power on road at dropped tire pressure is not ideal, you can feel That the knob Don’t like that and the abs is more solicited

Have a good season!

Was thinking about using these on mine. have always used the MT21 on my KLR and DR on the front and really like it. I have the MT21 also on the rear of my old KLR Its ok, a bit fast wearing but I do prefer the D606 on the rear. Unfortunately we cant get the the D606 in the correct size for t700 that I am aware of.

140 instead of 150, do you feel your rim is "less protected" ?

I have a dunlop 606 actually and i hate it.   I want to try the MT21.
