Posted August 31, 20204 yr Has any electrical wizards figured out how to more permanently shutoff the ABS? Can't count the number of times I've forgot to turn it off on long days just stopping for a chat. Something like a switch you flick when your gonna be off road for a few days. Pulling the fuse I guess? cheers guys

It will definitely disable the abs. Maybe start by pulling the fuse and see if the bike runs okay with it disabled. If it does, then go ahead with putting a switch in for the ground
September 29, 20204 yr The old direct connection to the brakes will work but is more or less permanent ( or at least not easy to reactivate and disable )
September 29, 20204 yr I would tread lightly on pulling a fuse out. You may be left with an engine light on the dash that can only be cleared at the dealer or by a hand held OBD2 scanner with a 4 prong cable adapter. Don't ask me how I know about the engine light on the dash staying on after pulling a fuse and turning the ignition on.
October 23, 20204 yr Has anyone tried removing the rear ABS ring. I tried this on a previous bike I had (KTM 690 Adventure R) and it worked - as in no ABS. Speedo functions worked fine. Just wondering if anyone has tried this on the T700. The other thing KTM had was a dongle that allowed the REAR ABS to be switched off and stay off even when the ignition switch was cycled. That's what I'd like for the T700.
December 13, 20204 yr So I pulled the 30amp Main ABS fuse today just for science. Back brake skids (too pussy and too many years without ABS to try the front on tarmac) and the light on the left side of the dash stays on. Seems to run fine without running a restrictive fuel map. Everything goes back to normal with the fuse back in.
