Nephton Area Trails

Found a good series of trails this week. E-107 running from Apsley cuts through this area on towards Havelock. There are a couple nice routes in here, with some challenging terrain and lots of exposed rock and elevation changes.

 

The staging area is located here, and if you are biking in be sure to route yourself in along Northeys Bay Road, as it is one of the curvier roads in the area.

 

From the staging area you head north about 400m and reach the Hydro line which has a bunch of locations and distances marked on signs.

You can head east and pop out at Twin Lakes along Highway 46.

You can head north which takes you into Little Jack Lake, which has a nice waterfall and site. From there you can either dip out to the fire routes encircling Jack Lake and escape out towards Hwy 504, or continue on towards Apsley/Hwy 28. The latter trail is the only one I haven't checked out yet, but based on the trail in to that point it is probably well traveled enough to be doable.
