Hi All.

Putting some miles on the T7 now  and beginning to think about the next service (2nd).

I much more prefer to dot this myself as it is a good way to see how the bike is screwed together. However, one thing that can't be done is any firmware updates so a trip to the dealer for a service would be better to get this done.

So, is there a way to find out which version of firmware I currently have and also what the latest version of the firmware is?

Cheers

Is there a problem with your bike that requires you to get a 'firmware update'? This is a fairly simple bike in terms of electronics, and unlike any cellphone, probably doesn't require an update unless you are having issues, and then I would be surprised if any Yamaha dealer would do such a thing as part of a tune-up. I'm nearly 8K kms in on my 4th oil change and it keeps running stronger every day.

I think I have Yamaha disease...

my 2006 aprilia pegaso settled on the 19th firmware update and it was less complicated than the t7. The changes will be very subtle, probalby of little use but any modern bike will have firmware updates. If there is a way to check what version you are on this would be good to know. Any service will include firmware updates as standard.

Good question. Suppose one has a reflash of the computer from an aftermarket company to change electronic parameters. (Hello, 2WDWs) Would those be negated? And etc.
