Sticky throttle after OEM heated grip install?

TonyB

Question

Got my first service last week (1,000km's) and while there got the shop to install OEM heated grips. Got the bike home (trailered) and now my throttle is sticky. I've tried every cable adjustment combination (on the throttle body and the cable) to no avail. Any suggestions for things to consider?

Are you still using the stock bar end weights & hand-guards?

Did they install the grip spacer?  Maybe post a pic...

Yes, stock handguards (I actually took everything off to confirm no restrictions), spacers included. I'll grab a pic tonight and send it along. Thx. I should have posted this on the Tech questions section. If someone knows how to move it, please do.

on Facebook, there are people saying the switch gear & the original grip was installed a tad too outward which cause the heated grip to stick out JUST a tad and touching the bar ends.

as Burner suggests, a picture or two around the area would be for the best 🙂

my dealer cannot get heated grip spacers for a while...

do the OEM spacers go on after the OEM heated grip (further out) or before? thanks

They go on after the heated grips, so they fill the gap between the grips and the bar end weights/hand guards.

Here's a pic. I have since added Barkbusters, but like Walter says, after (outside).
