Engine Management Light for ABS Error Codes

CReamflourish

Question

This might be more an observation than a question, but I thought my experience might be worth sharing to see if anyone has had the same thing.

On the way to taking my bike in for its 6k mile service, the engine management light came on.

I picked it up yesterday and the tech informed me that the light was due to a bunch of ABS related error codes, which he obviously cleared during the service, and now all good. Knowing that I actually use my T7 off-road, (apparently that's a rare in my area!), he asked me if I'd been off-road without turning the ABS off.

Not intentionally! But I do quite often forget to switch it off before I head down a green-lane after a long section of roadwork. This will often end up with me giving the ABS a good workout, and me doing the associated bum-clenching exercises. Particularly in the sloppy conditions typical to UK riding at this time of year.

Apparently the T7's ABS system don't like doing too much work before it starts throwing error codes!

Anyone else had the same?
