Couldn't find any threads on this matter, I usually just use engine oil or two stroke oil but was considering buying a a specific air filter oil, did read on another forum the recommendation of Canola oil "as used by Top Racers"  I'm open to your wisdoms!

Specific oil only. Air filter okl has a carrier that allows the oil to be dispersed throughout the foam and it evaporates and leaves a tacky oil substance. I use Twin Air.

2nd for TwinAir -  I have been using their cleaner, Bio-oil and filters for quite a while on my off-road bikes

Clean your Twin Air filter with Twin Air BIO Liquid Dirt Remover and re-oil with Twin Air BIO Liquid Power Filter Oil. Use Twin Air Contact Cleaner to clean the air filter cage and sealing ring of the airbox. Protect your air boot while washing your bike or ATV airbox with the Twin Air Airbox Cover.

good product.

Agreed. It's ace. Used it on my KTM for 10 years or more.

For Australian / NZ riders, you should google "UniFilter Filter Fix". Very sticky and much better than using spray on filter oil or plain engine or gear oils.

Unifilter Filter Fix filter oil is a heavyweight mineral oil mixed with non-drying glue agents. The formulation of Filter Fix has taken many years to perfect. Why Choose Unifilter?. 3 X UNIFILTER Safari Snorkel Ram Head (150Wx100H) Cover Pre Cleaner & Filter Oil.

Put a bit of filter oil between 2 fingers and let it set a minute and then pull your fingers apart, it will be real stringy and tacky, that is what traps the dirt. The foam is just a holder for the oil. It probably wouldn’t matter much if your not in dusty conditions but try riding in Nevada when the poof dirt is 3 ft deep and you will learn the importance of good filters and filter oil.
