A week in Moab

Spent the last 7 days at White Wash and Sand Flats.  Not on the T7.  I took my Beta and my KLX.  I've never been there before and it was amazing.  Weather wasn't the greatest but it was never that bad either.  Spied a black T7 in Moab and it was a local guy.  The slick rock was intimidating at first as I'm an average rider at best.  After a few hours the traction on the rocks gave me a lot of confidence.

In White Wash we rode Brian's Trail, Mary's Trail, The Tubes, Dead Cow and Enduro Loop.  I only rode the Beta in White Wash.

In Sand Flats I rode the Beta on Hell's Revenge and Fins & Things.  Believe it or not I actually did Hell's Gate backward on the Beta.  I can't believe it either but the guy riding with me got me climbing out on his GoPro.  It was a lot more the brilliance of the Beta than skill.

While camped in Sand Flats I rode the KLX through the Mountains to La Sal one day and on Potash Rd/Shafer Canyon to the Canyon Lands Visitor Center and got a permit to do White Rim.  We rode White Rim and Lathrop Canyon before back tracking to get back to camp before dark.

Epic week of riding.  I'm disappointed I've never been down there before.  Can't wait to go back and do it again!

So, I did Kane Creek this morning and Slick Rock this afternoon on my T7 with my 3 buddies on 2 690's and a 701. We had to muscle the bikes up 2 short spots but other than that the T7 was a champ! Met a couple of 2-strokes and a 450 who thought we were crazy riding these bikes there! That being said, if I lived here and was doing that kind of riding, I would drop the T7 like a hot potato. TOO HEAVY. I jumped on my buddies 701 to ride it out and I thought I jumped on a 125! I would buy a 300 2-stroke and smile everyday.

Now it's off to Prescott, on our way to start the AZ BDR on Thursday!

Nice! Moab is incredible.  Spent a couple of days tooling around Canyonlands on the T7 and while it was fun, I wish I had something lighter like a KLX for it.
