Wondering why some people are using small exhaust slip on exhaust in instead of a standard size slip on? Any advantage?

Small slip on is louder and saves some weight but if you plan on having a full system then it becomes a bit to loud in my opinion...  

I've had both hence I now know...

Thanks that’s what I thought, I’m only looking for a slip on just wondering if the short pipe impacts soft luggage as well. Like the Dominator short pipe

Thanks for your useless input, loud bikes save lives as well. I’m wondering if there is a benefit or what the reasons are for different pipe selection
