Riding her back home

So after months of waiting, I finally managed to secure a black T7 at a dealer in Palm Springs, CA. I'm flying down this Saturday and am planning to pick up the bike in the afternoon and hit the road. Given the weather (100F+), I'd like to ride back home to the SF Bay Area along the PCH. I'd want to get back home by Sunday night. Any tips on getting around LA and hitting a sweet spot on the PCH? Have never ridden/driven around that area.
