32 Years to come back around...

Here is my new 2021 Tenere next to the old 1989 Honda Transalp.

The Transalp was sold in the USA for only two years. Although popular in Europe at the time, adventure riding here didn't go over well (AKA low sales). Sad to say, Honda was too far ahead of its time. The last 10 years here in the USA, adventure bikes are all the rage. Maybe it is the aging demographics of the motorcycle crowd.

I still love riding the old Transalp. 600cc V-twin, liquid cooled... Very nice bike and I get lots of questions asked about it.

No doubt, the new Tenere is better. 32 years of technology does have it's benefits. Still... the old honda is a very nice bike.

Note:

The new Tenere copied the action of the Honda's drum rear brake...

Bonus question:

Do any of you old guys know the significance of the "Eye of Providence" decals?

Very cool! You now have some great choices of bikes to ride!

(I love that little yellow 2 wheeler)

Eye of Providence? -- another TCB fan?

or currency, or freemason, or illuminati, or DARPA, etc. etc

but in my mind?  TCB for the win.    though neither ADV bike is his sportster --- he was such an early Adventurer..  🙂

That TransAlp is still in beautiful condition... rode one myself a while ago.

@Hibobb Eye of Providence sticker?

Didn't "Then Came Bronson" have that sticker on his Sportster?

or are we going for the Freemason's thing?

@cstatman, @UtahJack, You guys must be old (like me). Yup, it is my way to salute the classic show "Then Came Bronson". I was a kid back then and even wore a knit cap like Bronson did. When shopping for my first motorcycle I was looking at a harley, but changed to a 1976 Yamaha DT400. I loved Bronson, but happy I never got into the Harley thing.

@delirium If you have the room, keep'm all!

I wish I still had some of the ones from my youth, but back then I didn't have the money to collect things.
