Posted August 30, 20213 yr Well, after waiting 4 months for the bike it's finally here. I moved from a 2011 R1200GS. The GS was a great bike on and off pavement but at 63 years old, it was just getting heavier and more cumbersome off pavement every year. So far I've only put about 300 miles on it but have had the opportunity to do some forest roads from graded gravel to rutted, rocky unmaintained mountain road. The weight difference between the two is substantial but the suspension, narrowness and 21" front wheel are what really make the biggest difference off pavement for me. When it comes to off pavement I'd say it's about half the effort of the GS. On pavement it handles quite well and is pretty comfortable. Not the comfort or weather protection of the GS but maybe 75% I don't find the seat or windshield as bad as some complain about. I'm going to ride it the rest of the season before I worry about replacing either. Overall, really happy with the change. Edited September 2, 20213 yr by Dan M

My reasons for wanting one also, lighter and most my riding on the highway will be secondary roads so..
