Question regarding "Cat Delete"

Gents,

 Im thinking about replacing the exhaust system in order to reduce the engine temps, drop some wieght and pick up some power along with a better sound. My question is: will the bike require a programer or reflash  and will I have a check engine light on from the upgrade. Also as a bonus question : as far as mufflers go, what would be a good choice as far as not too loud and USFS approved?   I wouldn't mind a little more bark but Im not looking for an attention getting exhaust.... Thanks in advance......John

i have decat hedders havent yet had a ecu flash or remap, no engine codes provided you keep the lamba sensor, i am going to eventualy get the rapid bike evo ecu piggyback unit.
