Road book Rally in the Kielder Forest

Recommended Posts

I just had the biggest adventure for a long time the weekend 29/30/31st October.

150 mile ride from home up to Northumbria, Saturday and Sunday riding to a road book through hundreds of kilometres in the mud and pouring rain, followed by the return trip back home through an almighty rain torrent.

I was on the standard tyres and I consider myself a novice at this sort of thing (around 12 hours off road training before this event) But this is what I had the ambition to do with this bike.

I didn’t finish in time on Saturday, but completed Sundays course. I made a few navigation errors but was able to work it out and get back on track.

The organisers were great. The other riders were a friendly bunch and really supportive.

My bike is christened now has a few dings and scratches, but that is ok.

I am looking forward to the next event.

It was a right old adventure.

nice mate. that's something i still want to try.. a road-book thing. no clue where to begin in the Netherlands.

must say i don't pay to much attention to social media's.

see ya had a camp up there as well.  if it were dry and a bonfire.. i see it in front of me, nice beer or 2.

i dont know whats wrong with the pireli scorpion str..   the ones that came on it where holeable. ones i ordered later on are a bit different in the milage department.

and yes mud makes em slide more. but i have not had the point thy did not peddle me forwards. i have bridgestone 41 somthing front and a pireli scorpion str rear (produced germany)
