Oh, it gets infinitely more expensive from here, LoL

In this pic alone: New tires in the background, testing some headers in the middle of the shot, and some prototype parts in the foreground from Rebel X sports in Italy, designed by Manuel Lucchese - the gentleman who worked on the RAID project for Yamaha 🙂

And then we have some new hoops and hubs as well from Dubya USA (Excel wheels and HAAN hubs 🙂

Nice wheel cleavage!  My guess a Camel exhaust is lurking around there somewhere?

Surgical amputation. You’re the first guy, besides myself, I’ve seen using a plumbing tool for such clean, spark free removal of that hideous appendage. Well played.

LoL.  It's not quite finished yet, and it might change a bit before it's finalized.  Just figured I'd show some of the progress...

Quick update and some more parts porn for ya...

Metal work on the exhaust is all fabbed up - getting sent off to be produced.

In the meantime, more stuff has been showing up:

EBC VEE Rotors and R series pads

Accossato PK030 Forged Aluminum Radial Brake Master Cylinder

That's all for now.

The Accossato PK030 forged aluminum Radial Brake Master Cylinder is especially nice because it's fully adjustable for distance as well as lever length, which is perfect for single OR dual discs - something we haven't fully decided on yet 🙂

I am intrigued by the bar above the silencer - thinking something similar would prevent soft luggage smashing the rear plastics.

I'm using it as more of a grab handle, but yes, it could work for that too if using a traditional  exhaust.

Hey everyone!  I know it's been a bit minute but I figured show you the latest progress pic in making my vision come true - the ultimate high mount Dakar style Full Titanium exhaust.

I gave my hacked up link pipe I "massaged" into place to my exhaust guys and they made a jig to replicate my creation in one piece.  I was worried about swingarm clearance but judging from my test below I'm happy to say that all my measuring and cutting was spot on!

I'm getting excited finally!!!

Surgery is FINALLY done on the exhaust!!!  I mistakenly made a new thread about because it's been so long since I posted an update I forgot this build thread existed LoL!

World's first ALL Titanium Arrow High Mount Exhaust for the Tenere 700!!!

This is the 4th iteration, and it fits like a glove. Months and months of hard work went into making this link pipe, custom fabricated to my exact specs by Competition Werkes.

We've been long time partners, and after the Titanium exhaust they made for my Yamaha FZ-07 Racing Prototype to race in MotoAmerica, I knew they were the ones to complete my exhaust vision for the Tenere 700.

It turned out great.  Wasn't sure what to do with the heat shield, but we were able to incorporate the Arrow Carbon Fiber Heat Shield without issue.  This is how it should have come from the factory IMHO 🙂

Many thanks to Shawn and the crew, and to Adele from Arrow Exhaust in Italy for supplying the Tenere specific Titanium headers and silencer. When I saw the turned down exit of this silencer, which reminded me of a two stroke, I had to have it. I had an instant vision, with the lines of the silencer matching the lines of the bodywork, and the lines of the turned down exit pipe matching the lines of the taillight.

I couldn't have pulled it off without a big thank you to Corey from @Camel ADV in Canada for supplying his exhaust hanger solution to make this a reality. I first started designing a high mount hanger before I knew about Corey's. When I saw that Corey developed something similar to what I came up with, but BETTER, I knew right then I wanted to support his efforts.  Although the exhaust hanger worked perfectly, I couldn't make his link pipe work for this project and to design my own from scratch.

Now that the exhaust is finally figured out, it's time to work on the next major hurdle of this project.

Stay "tuned"...

That's the next big project...and that turn signal won't be there to melt 🙂

Would it have been possible to have made the muffler can 3-4" shorter, then the exhaust would be routed under the turn signal. Looks like if you go with this design you will have the added expense of new turn signals...

Maybe, but there's a lot more work involved in shortening a can than just cutting off the welded link pipe and adding a collar with an internal stopper for the custom link pipe.

I think most high amount exhausts on the market require you to do something with your rear turn signals so my solution will be no different

It was never designed for the stock turn signals so that'll be my next project to tackle on this build.

I came up with the design that's completely different than everything else on the market and if I could pull it off it'll look ultra sano.

Fingers crossed 🙂
