It feels so planted on the road which I was not expecting, on a woodland track I went along I  didn’t feel the weight of the bike and it coped  much better than I hoped it would on the standard tyres.

Sure is and exactly that. I've just done a 50 mile ride on wet leafy roads, then dry, then muddy, then squashed conkers etc. and the bike is sublime in all conditions. I'm over the moon with it and it only gets better with more miles.
