What grips did your Tenere come with?

Spike4379

Question

Hey fellas!

I have seen youtube reviews of other tenere 700s and one with Bret Tcaks riding the standard T7, but they all have these kind of flat-top grips and talk about how nice they are.

Did you guys all get those? I have a french made 21 and its got some round, god awful feeling garbage grips.

Feeling left out here

Never used the T7 OEM grips, but I bought my T7 used and the PO had already installed these aftermarket AME Round MX grips:

My normal go-to grips are ProTaper Pillow Tops, but these AMEs are very similar in diameter and feel (small diameter, soft and grippy) so I reinstalled them over the heated grip handlebar wraps I applied to the bike and now like them as well as the Pillow Tops.

Consider yourself... LUCKY.

I just spent the afternoon getting the clutch one off. Holy jesus the whole thing is glued down, not even kidding. I cant to slice 10mm strips and pull them off, and then shave the bar with a razor to get all the lil bits adhered and left on it. Those grips look pretty comfy too!

I bought mine second hand (just 2900km) with the OEM heated grips already installed.

Sliced them out the very first minute I had the bike entering the garage. Replaced with Progrip 714 Rally (on a Protaper YZ High bar).

Mine felt like they were solid plastic crap. Painful to hold. And glued on with a mad amount of glue.
