Coolant temperature

WalterT

Question

When I run the bike, the coolant temperature stabilises around 80 degrees C. Today I was idling for a few minutes because a traffic light apparently didn't detect the bike and I noticed the temperature had increased tot 102. Is this normal?

Yes, at 106°C, the ventilator starts and the temperature goes down

I had the same worries when my T7 was in break in period in August.  The temperature went above 100 degrees C every time I stopped the bike for couple of minutes or I rode it off road for long time on first or second gear. I got used to it.😊

on these moderne and compact engines, water warm fast. When we start, it don't need a lot of km to be hot. When it warms more, it can cool as fast ! 🙂

100% Normal... My Tenere 700 and MT-10 both heat up the same / like that. At 105 the fan starts up and runs to reduce temp.

Hold the top button on the display until the MPH switch to KM/H.  The temp changes too.
