500 mile Gravel run!

Some friends and I spent 2 days on a run here in Texas we named the Gravel Grinder 500. It's mostly gravel/dirt with an occasional slab run for a few miles to run into towns to eat or fuel up till you are back to gravel again. Was an absolute blast. Now the bikes are in MAJOR need of some cleaning. Here are a few pics.

Thanks! It was a blast. We were running HARD. that factory rear Pirelli is TRASH! I probably should have put the Dunlops on prior, as we were running 65 to 70 on some gravel sections and the rear was whipping, but it worked out nonetheless.

Looks like a blast. I go out for 100 mile gravel explorations all the time around here.

Yes. At around 100 to 150 I still feel pretty good. 250 in a day on gravel will test your limits some. It really pushed mine and I'm glad for it. Was a great run. We have another big one coming up in May.

Gravel is your friend.  Good report and great pictures.  I too am a 100 mile or more gravel rider almost every time I go out.

Gravel roads are pretty much the normal near me in Oregon USA. Twisty ones I ride at about 25-30mph and the straighter ones at 40-50 mph. Very comfortable at those speeds on the T700 standing as far over the windshield as I can. I found out I couldn’t have a tank bag and go those speeds. Can’t get far enough forward. That is how I discovered using the tank bag as a tail bag
