Bar risers / brake + clutch cables

Hi! First poster, T7 newbie here ...

After a rather long wait (years!) I'm about to venture 800km south to pick up my T7, so I have a few questions before I go fetch it and ride it back.

- I have a set of 3cm bar risers, and wondering if the brake and clutch cables are long enough to accomodate this? On my Aftrica Twin I had to change the brake lines ...

- I'm ordering some stuff for the bike, and I'm wondering whether it's worth messing with the front suspension right away? (ordering from Europe is a bit of a hassle, so I'd like to get all the 'essentials' in for the first order)

- I definitely plan to upgrade the rear spring (purely based on fairly unanimous reviews) and I'm a bit unsure how to choose the rating. I'm about 87-88 kilo with riding gear, so the 85N/mm looks about right, but is that only suitable WITH heavy luggage, or would it be OK without also? Looking to get this spring:

SF-KTS-T700-KT-Austauschfeder-Federbein-

Linear Uprated Shock Spring for Yamaha Tenere 700 2019 onwards Most rider of the Tenere 700 will have found out that the OEM standard spring is too…

Cheers everyone! Much appreciated!

/Thomas

I have 3 cm risers (sw-motech) and no problem with clutch or brake cables.

I have used 2in rox risers which fit but was tight....am now using 30mm risers with no problems.

As for springs....I am 90kg naked

I am using a 90n rear spring and it is perfect for me with all my preload available for adding luggage/gear.

You will be good with the 85n spring....

I am using .60 kg fork springs

At you weight you could get away with just adding preload to your stock fork springs.....but the rear spring upgrade is essential.

Thanks a lot, mate! That was exactly what I was hoping to learn!

Update: I fitted some 5cm risers, and I have no problems with cable length. Thanks all
