This is the luggage rack I have on my personal bike. It can hold up to 12lbs. For me the Tenere serves multiple purposes; Commute, Enduro, family rides and here in a few months racing/rallying. This rack isn't for the one that is going to load down his or her entire bike more the weekend trips not cross country.  

 

I like the fact one day I can put a hard cases on it to allow passengers to have a back rest, then also allow me to transfer weight as I am riding. Another plus is there is no drilling, its a 100% bolt on product.
